The Confidence Loop
Confidence comes from taking action. The more you do something, the more confident you get. But doing something the first time is tough.
The other driver of confidence? Mindset. Belief in yourself that you can do something, even if you haven’t done it before. When you feel good, you're more likely to take that next step.
The Hail Hexagon logo is a reminder of the confidence loop. And that trying something new builds confidence. Each Hailband features three hexagons, as a reminder that confidence is not just about trying something once, but getting up again, and again.

The Hailband is a year plus in the making. The first one? A pair of sunglasses with the lenses removed and the frames sanded down. Since then, we built new versions, testing different dimensions, shapes, and materials until we reached a version that is light but strong, premium and durable, comfortable for all day and flattering on everyone. Everything from the hinges to the curve of the temples has been thought about.

Story
I used to wake up at 5am every morning to straighten my hair before school. High school was tough - I lived a double life between a broken home and trying to present myself well enough to make friends and get into a good college. Having my naturally frizzy hair straight was a small way to boost my confidence.
While working in advertising as an adult, I was assigned a project to help a large hair brand market a new shampoo. The customer research was illuminating. Women shared similar stories of how a good hair day (or the reverse) could shift the outlook of their entire day. I believe confidence is the root of success. And how you feel internally can boost your confidence enough to push you to make choices that lead to a better life.
I started Hail to embolden more women to take steps to build the life they want.
