Confidence: the quality of being certain of your abilities or of having trust in people, plans, or the future. (Cambridge English Dictionary)
I believe confidence is the key to everything else. It's the spark that allows you to go after new things - apply for a new job, to try a new class, create a work of art, meet a new friend or romantic partner. It's also valuable - in and of itself. When someone confidently rolls into a meeting or interview, you respect them more. They trust themselves, and you trust them more.
Confidence is a super power.
But it's not always there. My confidence ranges - sometimes I feel I can do anything. Other times I feel useless. The Confidence/Competence loop presents the idea that the more you do something, the more confidence you gain in your abilities, and the more confident you become. But getting started is hard.

The other drive of confidence? Mindset.
Even if your aren't competent (yet), you can be confident. You just have to try. After all, that's what confidence is - the willingness to try something despite not necessarily having done it before. Trying requires getting in the right mindset. With this blog I'll be writing tips, interviews, and research on confidence and how to get into the confident mindset. I hope you find it helpful for your own confidence journey.
