Consultant and football player Dennis Bruning has 3 tips for getting into a confident mindset. But the last might be the most illuminating.
HAIL: Dennis, you’re a successful consultant, football player, and budding entrepreneur. What do you do to feel more confident, and/or what advice do you have for our readers to get into a confident mindset?
Dennis: Same answer to both: it’s called beer. No, I mean that’s one strategy, but I think you can do a few things.
First, it always helps to focus on how you got to where you are. What you have accomplished? What are you good at?
Second, think about the future. What’s the worst that could really happen? If you fuck up who cares? You’ll move on.
And three, focus more on the process than the outcome. A lot of people get turned down in job interviews. Not because of messing it up, but because someone else fit the profile more than you. All you can do is give your best.
Same goes in football. I don’t mind losing if we play well and give it our all.
